More music, less words.

Petr Henych

Petr Henych is one of the best guitarists from the Czech Republic, his creations and performances can be compared to world stars. I claim to say that if he were in the USA today he would perform on the biggest stages and celebrate world recognition. he appeared on the scene in 1974 and is still on it.

One interesting thing … from the privacy of his wife (Jana Henychová) she is also a guitarist, I don’t know her personally but I’ve talked a few times on Facebook and I have to say that few people are as modest and honest as she is, but this also applies to Peter …

Petr Henych (* February 10, 1968, Prague) is a Czech rock guitarist who first drew attention to himself in 1992 in the band John Dovanni. Over the years, he has worked alongside the most prominent personalities of the Czech music scene (Ladislav Křížek and Kreyson, Vilém Čok, Bára Basiková and Precedent, Pancho, Petr Kolář). He currently works in the band Leaders! Kamila Střihavky. His cousin is the former frontman of the band Törr, singer Vlastimil Henych.

In 2007, he composed, recorded and released his first instrumental album, On his own hands. After a short time, he founded an accompanying band consisting of bassist Martin Hroňek and drummer Jakub Homola. The trio was named G-bod and its repertoire includes material from the CD On Your Own Hands and several songs taken from Jimi Hendrix or Joe Satriani.

One of the most significant recent interpretive and composing activities is working on the successful music project Album by Petr Kolář, where he had a major composing and arranging role and at the same time was a member and co-founder of the singer’s accompanying group. Among other things, he is the author of the music of the song Vyznání, which was named the second most popular song in the Hit of the Year 2006 competition.

The band G-bod was, among other things, the support of the American guitarist Richie Kotzen on March 18, 2008 and then on February 9, 2009 in the Retro Music Hall [2]. In 2009 he joined the band Leaders as a guitarist, which accompanies the singer Kamil Střihavka.

On July 12, 2010, his band G-Bod released an album called Pleasure Trip. It contains a total of twelve instrumental compositions. In contrast to his debut act, this record is recorded with a live band, in which bassist Martin Hroněk and drummer Jakub Homola play with him.
